Three steps, no surprises.
Stranded is temporary.
Locked out on a retail park. Keys lost somewhere between Biddulph and the beer garden. A snapped blade in the ignition at 6am. This is what we've done for fifteen years — arriving fast, opening the car without a mark, and cutting a new key on the spot.
No lead-generation call centre, no subcontractor in an unmarked van. The locksmith who answers is the locksmith who turns up.

Every key since 1998 is a small computer.
Since October 1998, every car sold in the UK has an immobiliser — a chip inside the key must be electronically married to the car, or it will never start. Cutting the metal is the easy half.
The van carries hundreds of key blanks, remotes and transponder chips, plus the same diagnostic and programming kit as a main dealer. Keys cloned, coded and tested at your door — often at half the dealer's price, with no tow truck involved.

"The price we say on the phone is the price you pay on the drive. Every time."Jude Green — Auto Lock & Key, Kidsgrove
Everything a car key can need.
If it has an ignition, we can key it.
Keys cut, programmed and repaired for every major make — the van carries blanks, remotes and transponders for all of them.

Guide ranges below — the full price guide has every job and the why behind the numbers.
Why ranges? The exact figure depends on your car's make and year. That's what the reg box is for — one fixed number, before we set off. Not a "£49 callout" that becomes £600 on your drive.
Your exact price, fixed
Your reg identifies the car and narrows down the key system it uses — send it over and your fixed quote usually comes back within minutes, day or night.
Straight answers, no sales pitch.
Fifteen years of the same questions, written down properly — what things cost, what to do when it goes wrong, and when you genuinely don't need to pay anyone.

Independent. Local. Fifteen years in.
Auto Lock & Key is run by Jude Green from our unit on Liverpool Road East, Kidsgrove — an independent local business, not a franchise or a lead-gen website. The locksmith you speak to is the one who pulls up outside, trusted by drivers, traders and small fleets across North Staffordshire since 2011.
Kidsgrove is home turf. The unit is two minutes from the railway station, and Butt Lane, Talke, Talke Pits, Newchapel, The Rookery, Harriseahead and Mow Cop are all a few minutes away — if you're local, you'll rarely find a shorter wait than ours.
